Sinulyte TM Carrier Ampholytes
Isoelectric focusing (IEF) is a cheap and convenient method for the simultaneous concentration and separation of proteins. Together with a range of diverse small, amphoteric molecules (carrier ampholytes) the proteins organize themselves into sharp zones in the order of their isoelectric points, as a stationary "stack".
Different proteins appear as separate zones only if zwitterionic molecules with appropriately tuned isoelectric points are available to go in between. Very similar proteins require a great multitude of spacer molecules. SinuLyte™ carrier ampholytes contain this complexity of polyfunctional pH species, which allows for separations of highest quality and resolution.
